Phillip has some words of advice for all of us: Breathe. Slow down. Pace yourself. Learn to lead yourself well and have the tough conversations that need to be had. Period. Business is filled daily with difficult situations that often require difficult conversations. Motivate yourself to have those conversations. Know that people act more automatically than we realize and we aren’t as intentional as we would hope to be. Curiosity is your best friend and questions can help calm people down. When people are stressed, they’re in flight or fight mode: automatic reacting vs. critical thinking. Using your own best thinking allows us to come to a solution for ourselves which naturally brings a drive to engagement and success.
