I was talking to someone the other day, and they asked me what I do for a living. I answered, and as I was listening to myself, I could hear excitement in my voice. Not because every day is fabulous and perfect, but because I’m ‘all in.’ I am very passionate about what I do and care deeply for our company and team. Regardless of whether or not you lead a team or what industry you are in, you need to either hear it for the first time or be reminded why it matters that you are ‘all in’ too!
Are You Giving 100%?
So many people are running through the day, checking boxes and waiting for their workday to end. What would it look like to your customers or clients if you took some time to take what you do on an everyday basis to the next level? Are you giving 100% day in and day out? I am challenging you to take a few minutes and ponder those two questions. I promise if you put a little heart into it, you might get a little more excited about what you do.
Take Pride in What You Do
Your name is written all over your work, so have pride in what you do. Your employer hired you for a reason – because they believed in you, your talents, strengths, skills, etc. When you’re not all in, it is easily seen in the fruits, or lack thereof, of your labor. Don’t you want others to see and experience your best?
Lead by Example
Kids aren’t the only ones watching. Your team and co-workers are observing what you do as well. You don’t have to be in a management position to be a leader. Set a great example of what it looks like to do your best, to be one step ahead, to take your work to the next level without being asked, and to participate or have a great attitude. People are watching all the time, whether you notice it or not. What message are you sending others?
The Powerhouse Combination
I recently listened to a podcast in which the author said, “There are only two things you can control every day: your attitude and your efforts.” The combination of your attitude and efforts is a powerhouse. What does this look like for you? Are you ‘all in’ every day?
By the way, this doesn’t only apply to your work life but can also be applied to your personal life as well. Are your friends and family experiencing your best?
